YARTSY Goes North of Town (Casa Grande) This Year!

DATE: Saturday, November 2024 Exact dates TBD

TIME: 9am-3pm

TICKETS: $10 donation

WHERE: Buy tickets that morning at Throwback Family Fun (NW corner of Trekell/Rodeo) (from 9am-noon) or purchase online anytime at eventbrite.com.

WHAT IS YARTSY?

YARTSY Garden Tour is is a self-guided garden tour featuring four unique yards in or around Casa Grande, AZ. If you've ever wondered what the backyards of avid gardeners and creative people might look like, you'll enjoy this relaxing, outdoor event. Yartsy is an annual fundraiser for Casa Grande Art Association. (Visitors pay a $10 donation to explore all four yards). View yards at your own pace between 9am-3pm.

SOMETHING NEW - YARDS THIS YEAR ARE NORTH OF TOWN!

The four yards are on the outskirts of town this year - to the north of Casa Grande! All of the yards have lovely plants and unique attributes with tranquil mountains in their backgrounds. Where are these yards? Three of the yards are off of Cox Rd (on the way to North Mountain Park) and one is near Avocado Nursery. Addresses will be in the brochure/map you receive that morning when you pick up your ticket.

TICKETS - NEW LOCATION

Because the yards are north and east of Casa Grande this year, we found a base location closer to that end of town.  Purchase or pick up your tickets that morning (from 9am-noon) at the front entrance of Throwback Family Fun at 958 E Rodeo Rd, Casa Grande (NW corner of Trekell & Rodeo). Tickets can also be purchased ahead of time at Eventbrite.com and your tickets will be waiting for you that morning at Throwback Family Fun.

We hope to see you there!

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES for Nov 4, 2023

Yartsy can't exist without volunteers! The entire event is organized and run by volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering at the event, please keep reading!

One does not need to be a CGAA member to volunteer. Each shift is 3 hours (9-12 or 12-3).

Following is a list of the positions that need to be filled. If you would like to volunteer, please contact us.

(Volunteers get a free ticket to tour the other yards before or after their shift).

Ticket taker (3 hrs)

Sit at a small table in a shady spot in a front yard near the gate. You will greet people and they will show you their ticket as they go in.

Yard aide (3 hrs)

Help the homeowner in any way needed. Help greet people and cover for the homeowner if he/she wants to go inside for a break. We don't expect you to know anything about its plants! If there is a question, lead the inquirer to the homeowner to ask.

Cashiers (CGAA members only) (3 hrs)

Sell tickets while seated at a table outdoors in the shade at Throwback Family Fun from 9am-11 or noon that morning. Have experience using Square for credit cards using your phone (we'll help you get it set up).

Creative volunteers (2-3 hrs)

Add to the creative ambience of the event by volunteering your interests and talents. We are looking for musicians, dancers and artists to be a part of the event, in the yards as a side show (The yards art the main focal point). Amateurs or professionals, solo or with a group, any age or skill level. (Ages 13 and younger need to be accompanied by an adult). If you have promotional cards or fliers, you are welcome to have them there. (Forms of creativity need to be approved by the Yartsy committee). It's easy. Let us know your genre and we'll assign you to a yard and a shift. We'd appreciate it!

Would you like to volunteer?

Please contact Patti at Casa Grande Art Association.

DO YOU HAVE A YARTSY YARD?

We are already looking for yards for next November (2024).

We need your help... the hardest part about organizing Yartsy is finding people to share their yard with us for the day. If you have a creative yard in any way, please consider sharing it for a good cause.

Have you ever walked out into your yard and thought ‘oh, this is just so unique I want to share it with others!’? Or maybe you know someone whose yard would be a lovely spot to enjoy an iced tea or glass of wine? Well, as luck would have it, we have just the event for you!

Each year it is a struggle to find yards to be in CGAA’s annual fundraiser event.  We need your help in finding yards!  Ideal yards will have plants and one or more unique attributes. If you think your yard might work for YARTSY and you are willing to share it with others for a day, or if you have someone to refer us to, please contact us here. ps. Did you know nobody thinks their yard is good enough? If you aren't sure, don't worry, we always send someone to take a peek and let you know.
